A moment captured by mistake
A smile remembered
For more than a decade
Embraced.

I don’t see myself in the mirror
A different man awaits
The folds and wrinkles show a different face
As death Awaits life’s mistakes.

The stubble and hairline awakes
A vision from a different place
A man I know
Who had time to show
All that life has to throw.

A man becomes a dad
Passing down knowledge of all he has
Sons & daughters
Ponder the orders
Of all to be had.

It’s not me in the mirror
It’s my dad
The man who passed down
All of his had.

Life goes on
Until one day my son
Looks upon himself
And sees himself as
Dad.

A remembrance that brings a moment
Of second glance.
